UPCOMING PROMOTIONS:

Saturday, December 12: Hockey Heroes for Epilepsy Night, featuring a post-game jersey auction and a Cool Ray Bobblehead Giveaway

All throughout December: Bring a gift card for the troops and receive a ticket to our February 16 game as thank you for your gratitude! Spread cheer by bringing a gift card for members of the USO Holdover Troops to all December games or to the Stingrays office throughout the month. We will collect gift cards and give them the troops on USO Holdover Troops Day on December 27.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS:

November 30: South Carolina at Orlando, 3-0 W

For the second time in a week, David Pacan impressed for the South Carolina Stingrays at the Amway Center. The forward's two shorthanded goals led the Stingrays to a 3-0 victory over the Orlando Solar Bears last Monday. Goaltender Mark Dekanich earned his second shutout of the season, stopping all 22 Orlando shots fired his way.

December 2: South Carolina at Norfolk, 3-1 L

The Norfolk Admirals scored three goals in the first 3:20 of the third period of play last Wednesday night to earn a 3-1 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays at the Norfolk Scope Arena. The loss was South Carolina's first of the season when they held a lead entering the game's final period. Prior to the contest, South Carolina was 11-0-0 when leading after 40 minutes.

December 4: South Carolina at Wheeling, 3-2 L

The South Carolina Stingrays fired 40 shots on Wheeling goaltender Brian Foster last Friday night but came up a goal short. The Stingrays dropped their second straight game, falling 3-2 to Wheeling at the WesBanco Arena despite outshooting the Nailers 40-25 in a back-and-forth game.

December 5: South Carolina at Wheeling, 6-1 W

Six different players scored, and Stephan Vigier and Andrew Rowe had three points, as the South Carolina Stingrays enjoyed an offensive outburst in a 6-1 victory over Wheeling at the WesBanco Arena last Saturday tonight. South Carolina tied a season-high with six goals and earned a weekend split in the two-game set with the Nailers.

December 6: South Carolina at Indy, 3-1 W

Paul Rodrigues broke a 1-1 deadlock at the 8:28 mark of the third period to lead the South Carolina Stingrays to a 3-1 win over the Indy Fuel on Sunday at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. South Carolina would also get 24 saves from goaltender Mark Dekanich and goals from Stephan Vigier and Brett Cameron in the win.

ROAD WARRIORS

South Carolina finishes a 10-game road trip on Friday in Atlanta. So far, the club is 6-3-0 on the road trip, claiming three wins in Orlando, a victory in Wheeling, and a win Sunday in Indy.

DEBLOIS RETURNS TO RAYS

The Stingrays announced today that forward Derek DeBlois has returned to the team after being loaned to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League (AHL) on November 20. DeBlois, 24, rejoins the Stingrays after his second stint with the Lake Erie. He has appeared in 10 games with the Monsters this season, scoring two goals. DeBlois has skated in nine games with the Stingrays this season, scoring six points (three goals, three assists).

STRIKING FIRST

South Carolina has scored the game's first goal in six straight contests dating back to a 2-1 win at Orlando on November 28. The Stingrays are 11-4 on the season when they score first.

VANECEK EARNS LEAGUE HONORS

Last Tuesday, the ECHL announced that South Carolina netminder Vitek Vanecek was named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for November. The is the second time Vanecek has earned league honors, after being named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week on November 17. Vanecek finished November with a 4-2-1 record, a 1.26 goals-against average and a save percentage of .946 in seven appearances. He recorded his first professional shutout on Nov. 3, making 21 saves in a 2-0 win over Florida. He allowed two goals or less in six of seven appearances in November.

VIGIER SPARKS RAYS

Forward Stephan Vigier enjoyed an impressive week for South Carolina. In three games this past weekend, Vigier notched three goals and two assists. The forward struck for three points (one goal, two assists) in a 6-1 win at Wheeling on Saturday. The forward was picked up in trade with Toldeo in October. He is third on the Stingrays with 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 21 games.

EPP NOTCHES FIRST

Defenseman Wade Epp notched his first professional goal in a 6-1 win over Wheeling on Saturday. In his rookie season in 2014-2015, Epp skated in 61 games, scoring 20 assists, and posted four assists in 27 playoff games. Including regular season and playoffs, Epp's first goal came in his 100th ECHL (73rd regular season) game on Saturday. He also notched two assists in Sunday's 3-1 win at Atlanta.
