Stingrays Go Global
September 21, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today they have gone global. In addition to launching their new website this summer, the Rays have joined the ever-growing websites facebook.com and myspace.com in an effort to reach out to their fans and develop a presence in the online community.
Facebook started as a way for college students to stay in touch with their friends. It has since expanded to beyond college to include high school students and even working adults. Now the Stingrays have their own group, the South Carolina Stingrays Official Fan Club, where fans of the Rays can meet over cyberspace to exchange messages and photos while showing their support of hockey in the Low Country.
MySpace is an additional way for Stingrays fans to stay in touch and talk hockey. MySpace has fewer limitations for joining so if you don't have an eligible email address for Facebook; MySpace is the place for you. You can find the South Carolina Stingrays Official Fan Club page on MySpace at http://groups.myspace.com/scstingrays.
By joining the South Carolina Stingrays Official Fan Club on either Facebook or MySpace, fans are given the ability to secure tickets to the Stingrays home opener on October 21 against Columbia at a group price. If over 300 people from the Fan Club buy tickets to opening night, that discounted ticket price can be redeemed all season long.
In addition to a discounted ticket, the Facebook and MySpace pages are conducting a referral contest every week from Monday to Monday for two free tickets to Opening Night.
The only way to book your ticket at the discounted price is by calling Charles McCallum or J.P. Sneed at 744-2248 x1205. All members who take advantage of this deal through Facebook or MySpace will be able to sit together at the game.
The puck drops on the 14th season of hockey in the Low Country on October 20 at Gwinnett and returns to home ice against Columbia on October 21. Order your full season, weekend, and partial ticket plans today by calling a Ticket Sales Manager at 744-2248. Packages start at only $59 and include all the great benefits of being a season ticket holder including discounted merchandise and a guaranteed same seat every game.
