Stingrays Gameday: Stingrays Salute Hometown Heroes Tonight Against Gladiators

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Gwinnet Gladiators tonight at 7:05 p.m. at North Charleston in the second game of a three-in-three weekend home stand and the second contest against Gwinnett. Tonight is the sixth of 17 scheduled meetings between the two teams this season. South Carolina is 1-1-1-2 against the Gladiators this season. Last night's 5-2 loss to Gwinnett was the first game decided in regulation between the two clubs.

The Stingrays celebrate Salute to Hometown Heroes Night tonight featuring a pre-game hockey game between the Charleston Fire Department and the Atlanta Fire Department at 2 p.m. All fans are welcome to attend the game and $2 of every ticket will go to the Equipping Our Heroes Foundation. The Stingrays Booster Club will be out there as well with plates for $5.00 and drinks for $.50.

Note of the Night: Stingrays rookie forward Nikita Kashirsky pushed his home goal scoring streak to a league best five games tallying six goals. Kashirsky lit the lamp late in the second period last night on the power play for his team leading tenth goal of the season.

Standing Tall Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford has been climbing the ECHL goaltending leader board this season and currently ranks 2nd in wins (6), 4th in minutes (606) and 4th in saves (274).

Keeping It Close The Stingrays are 7-1-1-3 in one-goal games and have scored the opening goal in six of the 17 games played so far this season going 4-1-0-1.

Campbell Leads the Way Stingrays forward Trent Campbell leads South Carolina against Gwinnett with seven points and ranks second in assists.

On Sunday, November 22, the Stingrays battle the Johnstown Chiefs in their only visit to North Charleston Coliseum for the 2009-2010 season. Sunday is also the first Kid's Carnival of the season featuring $5 kid's tickets! Come join the fun starting at 2:30 p.m. on the Montague side of the Coliseum in the plaza.
