Stingrays Gameday: Stingrays Induct Nate Kiser into Hall of Fame and Open 19th Season Tonight

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays kickoff their 19th season of hockey in the Lowcountry against the Reading Royals tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Catch all the action live at www.stingrayshockey.com .

Tonight, the Stingrays induct former defenseman Nate Kiser into The Post and Courier Stingrays Hall of Fame and celebrate Opening Weekend/Alumni Weekend.

Kiser skated for seven seasons with the Stingrays from 2004-11 and was a member of the 2009 Kelly Cup championship team. The Southgate, Michigan, native appeared in 412 games with the Stingrays, third-most in team history, scoring 21 goals and 94 assists for 115 points and 53 postseason contests netting 11 points (3g, 8a). On March 22, 2011 against the Greenville Road Warriors, Kiser became the all-time Stingrays penalty minutes leader passing Brett Marietti (1,127 PIM) and finished his career with 1,131 penalty minutes.

Opening Weekend/Alumni Weekend continues tomorrow, Saturday, October 15 with a pregame Stingrays Alumni Game at 2:30 featuring former Stingrays players from throughout the team's 19-year history and Military Appreciation Night presented by Force Protection as the Stingrays battle the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tickets for the Alumni Game are available by calling the Stingrays Office at (843) 744-2248. Later that evening, Stingrays players will wear special camouflage jerseys in honor of our men and women in the armed forces. The jerseys will be auctioned off online at www.stingrayshockey.com .
