IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals kick off their 2011-2012 season at First Arena when they host the Trenton Titans at 7:35 p.m. The Jackals begin their fifth season of ECHL play, while the Titans rejoin the league after playing as the Devils for the last four seasons.
RIVET TO MAKE DEBUT
Defenseman Craig Rivet will make his Jackals debut at First Arena tonight. The longtime NHLer served as the Buffalo Sabres captain for the majority of the last three seasons. He has skated in 923 NHL games and over 1,000 contests as a pro.
SEASON-OPENING SUCCESS
Since joining the ECHL for the 2007-2008 season, the Jackals have gone 4-0 in their regular-season openers, all of which have occurred on home ice. The Jackals are also unbeaten in their first road contest of each ECHL season. Elmira makes its road debut next Saturday night in Wheeling.

Coverage of Elmira's home opener will begin at 6:35 p.m. tonight on the Jackals Radio Network, one hour before the opening face-off. Rivet, general manager Robbie Nichols, head coach Pat Bingham, forward Riley Armstrong, and defenseman Mario Larocque will all appear on the pregame show.
