North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays wrap up the 72-game regular-season schedule tonight with Fan Appreciation Night and The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night at 7:05 the North Charleston Coliseum against the Elmira Jackals. Tonight is the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season.

Stingrays forward Marty Clapton and defenseman Trevor Johnson will be inducted into the Stingrays Hall of Fame during the first intermission! After the contest, the Stingrays host a postgame jersey auction for the white regular-season and postseason jerseys .

Series at a Glance:

The Stingrays hold a 2-1-0-0 record against the Jackals this season with wins on December 31 (2-0) and March 1 (2-1 in the shootout). Elmira slipped past the Stingrays in the last meeting, 3-2, on March 2 at First Arena in Elmira, New York. Defenseman Derrick Pallis leads the Stingrays against the Jackals with two assists. All-time, the Stingrays are 12-7-0 against the Jackals.

Stingrays Add Two New Members to The Post and Courier Stingrays Hall of Fame:

Earlier this week, the Stingrays announced that former forward Marty Clapton and defenseman Trevor Johnson would be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame during the first intermission of tonight's game. Both Clapton and Johnson began their professional careers with the Hampton Roads Admirals before arriving to the Stingrays for the 2000-01 season, helped the organization capture their second Kelly Cup Championship that summer and skated six consecutive seasons together. Clapton stands fourth all-time in Stingrays history with 373 games played while Johnson closely sits fifth with 331 contests. Clapton buried 75 goals and registered 218 points in a Stingrays uniform, both standing ninth in team history. Johnson racked up 930 penalty minutes, third all-time, including back-to-back 200-PIM seasons in 2002-03 and 2003-04. From 2003-06, he served as team captain. Both remain active with the organization and skated in every Stingrays Alumni Game since the tradition began prior to the 2012-13 season.

Jakaitis Receives ECHL and Stingrays Awards:

On Wednesday, goaltender Jeff Jakaitis was named the team's recipient of the 2013-14 Jerry Zucker Community Service Award and will receive a special plaque in a pregame ceremony tonight. Jakaitis attended over 20 community events and volunteered more that 40 hours of time in the Charleston community this season. Yesterday, he received All-ECHL First Team honors for the second time in his career. He is tied for the ECHL lead with 24 wins, tied for second with a .924 save percentage, stands fourth with a 2.16 goals-against average and is fifth with 2,391 minutes played. Overall, the Rochester, Minnesota, native holds a 24-12-1-2 record with three shutouts in 40 games this season and was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month in October and December, setting a new league record with four monthly awards in his career.

Veteran Forward Returns from American Hockey League:

Forward Jordan Owens returns to the Stingrays from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (AHL). Owens, who was loaned to the Bulldogs on November 28, skated in 26 games with the AHL club adding one goal and five assists for six points. In 17 contests with the Stingrays, the Toronto, Ontario, native has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists). While with Hamilton, Owens skated in his 400 professional hockey game and has 178 points (61 goals, 117 assists) in 405 contests.

The Captain is Back:

Stingrays defenseman and team captain Kevin Quick announced on Twitter yesterday that he is ready to return to the lineup. "Long off season, back playing just in time for playoff hockey," said Quick. "See you tomorrow night Stingray fans! # GreenLight # VacationsOver ." The Buffalo, New York, native has been out with injury since November 8 and has four assists in nine games with the Stingrays and a plus-minus rating of +8.

South Division Title Watch:

The Stingrays lead the South Division with 90 points heading into their last regular-season contest tonight. The Orlando Solar Bears sit four points back of the Stingrays with two games remaining. The Stingrays are chasing their sixth division title in team history and the first since the 2007-08 season.

Playoff Bound:

The Stingrays have clinched a berth in the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs and currently sit second in the ECHL's Eastern Conference. If the posteason started tonight, the Stingrays hold home-ice advantage against the seventh-seeded Wheeling Nailers. Game 1 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals would be Friday, April 18 and Game 2 is Saturday, April 19 . Both contests would take place at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. The final postseason schedule will be released Sunday evening.
