South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, announced today the release of their 2008-09 promotional schedule.
With the 2008-09 season a little over a week away, the Stingrays have loaded their home games with promotions, giveaways, and special events including some new season long promotions that promise to add to your game day enjoyment.
For the first time, the Stingrays are offering $2 Beer All Year, sponsored by Pearlstine Distributors. At every home game, fans can enjoy $2 12-ounce Bud Light Draughts from the time the doors open until the end of the first period.
Another season long promotion will take place prior to every Sunday game - it's the Kids Carnival! Outside on the plaza on the Montague Ave. side of the North Charleston Coliseum, the Kids Carnival offers fans games, jump castles, food, fun and more and will be set up outside for enjoyment beginning at 3:30 p.m. every Sunday afternoon.
In addition, the Stingrays will also be offering a $5 ticket with a college ID, or a Food and Beverage, Golf, or Hospitality Pay Stub every Tuesday and Thursday night this season.
All the festivities will begin on opening night, Saturday, October 18 as the Rays take on the Augusta Lynx at 7:05 p.m. The Kids Carnival will kick-off with a special Saturday appearance for at 5:30 p.m., and make sure to come early and pick up your free Magnetic Schedule, courtesy of Berkeley Electric Cooperative and Kirkman Broadcasting.
Sundays again mean Kids Days at the North Charleston Coliseum with $5 kid's tickets at the door. Following each Sunday game, there will either be a Skate with the Rays or Player Autograph signings on the concourse.
While many of the old favorites are returning this season, including Military and Scout nights throughout the year, Trick or Treat with the Rays on October 31 after the game, Pack the House night on January 17, the Used Car Giveaway on January 16, and Faith and Fun Night on March 7th, the Stingrays have added many new promotions.
First up is the Green Initiative on November 1st, a night that will feature a variety of green businesses and organizations as well as in-game promotions encouraging sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Stingrays will also have Guaranteed Win Night on Friday, January 2nd. If the Stingrays do not beat the Gwinnett Gladiators that night, anyone with a ticket to the game will receive a free ticket to the game on Sunday, January 4th against the Mississippi Sea Wolves.
Giveaways this year, besides the Magnetic Schedule on Opening Night, will be Youth Jerseys on Dec. 28th, Bobble Head Night on Feb. 7th, and Team Photo on Fan Appreciation Night, March 29th.
The Stingrays continue to make a special effort to raise money for various organizations. The annual Teddy Bear Toss for Debbie's Kids will be on Dec. 6th. Bring your stuffed teddy bear to throw on the ice when the Stingrays score their first goal of the game. Makin' Noise for the Girls and Boys fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network will be on Jan. 28th and the annual Pink in the Rink Night will be on Feb. 28th. Help the Stingrays raise money to fight cancer. Last year, the Stingrays held a Salute to Heroes Night and this year it is bigger than ever. Following the Stingrays game on March 22nd will be a special Police vs. Fire hockey game.
Additional promotions may be added as the season continues. The full promotional schedule can be found on the website and is subject to change.
Mark your Calendars - the Stingrays open up the 2008-09 season at home against the Augusta Lynx on Saturday, October 18. The game will be at the North Charleston Coliseum starting at 7:05 p.m.
