Jackals Look For Revenge

Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, kick off their pre-season tomorrow night, Thursday October 9th against the Reading Royals. After Reading knocked the Jackals out of the 2007-2008 ECHL Playoffs in round number one, game number six, the Jackals will look for revenge and a bright start to the 2008-2009 campaign.
The rivalry with Reading has grown into a wild one and will continue to grow in the pre-season. Players from both clubs will not only be playing to win, but playing for jobs. The contest will be an appetizer for the Jackals home opener on Friday October 17th, when the Royals revisit First Arena to kick off the regular season.
"This is a great game to evaluate some of the new talent that has joined the Jackals." Said Jackals Head Coach Steve Martinson.
After Thursday nights tune up, the Jackals host the Trenton Devils on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena. The Jackals then travel to Reading on Monday the 13th to finish the pre-season. As a reminder to all Jackals season ticket holders, the "Pick Up Party" is held tonight, Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 p.m. at First Arena.
