Bombers Add Forward Rogers

Dayton, OH -Dayton Bombers head coach Bill McDonald announced today the signing of forward Matt Rogers for the 2008-09 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Rogers, a third-year pro from Manchester, New Hampshire, joins the Bombers after splitting last season between the Pensacola Ice Pilots and Trenton Devils. He had a combined 15 points (7g,8a) and 22 PIM.

"Matt is a strong utility player with a lot of energy," McDonald said. "I liked what I saw from him last year and look forward to what he brings to the ice this season."

The 5-foot-11-inch, 180-pound forward also skated for the Cincinnati Cyclones in the 2006-07 season, picking up 4 goals and 2 assists in 27 games. That same season Rogers also played for Rio Grande Valley of the Central Hockey League, appearing in six games, and Chicago of the United Hockey League, netting a goal and an assist in 10 games.

"I feel great coming to Dayton this year," Rogers said. "I've had great experiences over the past few years, playing almost 20 games in Dayton. Now I've got the chance to help make the Bombers more competitive and bring home a championship."
