The Stingers held a 7-5 lead going into the fifth inning, but the River Bats scored three runs on two hits while Willmar committed three errors in the frame. After St. Cloud took an 8-7 advantage, the Stingers were shut out in the bottom of the fifth and the rain came shortly after. After a rain delay of an hour and a half, the game was officially ended in an 8-7 defeat for the Stingers.
Willmar and St. Cloud will play two seven-inning games Monday night in St. Cloud beginning at 6 p.m. The doubleheader is a result of a game postponed due to rain on July 1.
