The Willmar Stingers defeated the St. Cloud River Bats 4-3 at Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar.
Stingers starting pitcher Scott Lieser earned the victory with six strong innings giving up three runs. The Stingers were led offensively by John Haberman who went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI.
The Stingers take on the St. Cloud River Bats tonight in St. Cloud at 7:05pm. They return home on Saturday for a three game home stand versus the Rochester Honkers. Saturday night's game will feature a post game fireworks show presented by Miller Lite. The 2011 season is presented by Charter.
