Stingers back and ready to complete season
January 17, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Mississippi Miracles News Release
Greenville, MS. After a period of recovery due to the devastating hurricanes, the ABA Mississippi Stingers have put things back together and are ready to complete the season. According to head coach Sam Lacey, former NBA star, "This has been a very difficult time for the people of Mississippi, us included. We've worked hard to get things back together so that this area could have a strong, professional team and we are very pleased that the ABA stood behind us during this period. And we are equally pleased by the tremendous support we've received from our fans, sponsors, the community, everyone. Now, it's our job to put together the kind of team that will make everyone proud. We are ready to go."
The Stingers will play several games on the road as they warm up for their home opener at the Washington County Convention Center in Greenville, Mississippi on Monday, January 30th at 7pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. General Manager, John Matthews, Jr. added, "We hope to fill the convention center and we promise an exciting and competitive evening with action-packed, high-scoring basketball. We are back!"
