December 1, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Mississippi Miracles News Release

Greenville, Miss. The ABA Mississippi Miracles announced today their December 5th Greenville Mississippi Thomas Winterstein ABA Basketball Classic home opener at the Washington County Convention Center (WCCC). The Miracles will play host to the Arkansas Aeros from Northwest Arkansas.

The game will honor the late Thomas Winterstein, Manager of the Greenville Office Depot, who died suddenly of a heart attack earlier this year. "Tom was a tremendous support of the Mississippi Miracles," stated Coach James Smith. "Office Depot has been a great corporate sponsor of the team because of Tom."

The public is invited to purchase school supplies from Office Depot, bring them to the home opener at WCCC, so that they can be collected and donated to area schools in need. "I can think of no better way to honor the memory of Thomas Winterstein," stated Dr. Myers, Chairman of the Mississippi Miracles.

The game is scheduled to begin at 7pm. Admission is $10 for adults ($8 advance tickets) and $5 for children ($3 advance tickets).
