Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo - The Buffalo Silverbacks won their second home game in a row by rolling over the Hammond Rollers 120 to 104 Thursday night at Buffalo State College Arena. The Silverbacks were off to an early lead in what appeared to the making for a complete blow out, with Buffalo putting up 42 points in the first quarter to Hammond's 17. The Silverbacks kept a steady beat leading up the half where it stood 69 to 45 in Buffalo's favor.

Hammond hit the locker room and came back with fight, reducing the Silverbacks lead to just 12 at the end of the third, 80-92. The Silverbacks thwarted Hammond's rally in the 4th and broke off with a lead that was too much for the Indiana team to recover from.

The Silverbacks executed a well balanced scoring attack with 6 players in double digits. Antoine Sims, once again, led the Silverbacks in scoring with 19 points. The real "General" of the night was point guard and team leader, Modie Cox. His rock steady execution took advantage of the entire team's assets while earning himself 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
