Sarnia Sting News Release

General Manager, Nick Sinclair announced this evening that the Sarnia Sting have completed a trade with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

The Sting have acquired 2014 first round pick, Anthony Salinitri, Windsor's 2nd round pick in 2015, Sault Ste. Marie's 2nd round pick in 2017, as well as their 4th round pick in 2018. In exchange the Sting send defenseman, Anthony DeAngelo to the Greyhounds.

"Anthony [DeAngelo] is a premier player, who has been a very important part of this organization. We wish Anthony [DeAngelo] nothing but the best, in this, his final season in the Ontario Hockey League," said Sinclair.

Salinitri, who was chosen 17th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, is a natural centre with tremendous offensive upside. The '98 born, Windsor native represented Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge this past October in Sarnia. In 21 games with the Greyhounds this season, the rookie has registered 7 points (1G 6A) and currently maintains a plus/minus rating of plus-3.

"The addition of Anthony [Salinitri] is one that boasts well for the future of this hockey club. He is a player we thought highly about in his draft year, and are excited to have him as part of our young nucleus moving forward," adds Sinclair.

Last season, Salinitri was named the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario Player of the Year as a member of the Windsor Jr. Spitfires. Previous recipients of this award include Travis Konecny, Jared McCann and Bo Horvat.
