Santa Cruz, CA - DJ Stewart poured in a career-high 41 points on 16-28 FGA, six assists, four rebounds and three steals to guide Sioux Falls to a 129-110 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors.
It marked the third time this season Stewart has scored 35-plus points this season. The Skyforce (6-3) has won the last two games he has done such.
Santa Cruz (3-4) got out to 27-16 lead in the first quarter and pushed up to a 21-point lead in the second. Behind 19 points on 8-13 FGA, Stewart was able to help the Skyforce stay within striking distance at 62-55. It marked e
the second straight victory for the Skyforce when trailing at halftime and trailing by 18-plus points in the first half.
Sioux Falls responded with a 31-9 run to start the third quarter and outscored the Warriors 47-19 in the period. The Skyforce shot 63 percent from the field (17-27 FGA) and grabbed 18 rebounds in the period alone.
Jamaree Bouyea scored 13 of his 19 points in the quarter, which helped build as big as a 24-point lead in the third and a 102-81 lead with just 12 minutes remaining.
Both teams went back-and-forth in the final quarter, but Sioux Falls held Santa Cruz to 18.2 percent shooting from deep (4-22 3PA) in the period, which helped secure the victory for the Force.
Kadeem Jack added 17 points on 8-11 FGA and a season-high 13 rebounds, while Mychal Mulder posted 21 points on 6-10 3PA to round out top scorers for the Skyforce.
Golden State Warriors assignee Ryan Rollins led Santa Cruz with 22 points off the bench, while Warriors assignee Patrick Baldwin Jr. was held to just nine points on 3-10 FGA and seven rebounds.
Sioux Falls returns home to face Raptors 905 (3-4) on Sunday at 3:00 PM CST from the Sanford Pentagon. Santa Cruz travels to Memphis on Tuesday to face the Hustle (6-0) at 7:00 PM CST.
