San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (November 23, 2008) - Rampage defenseman Logan Stephenson passed Ryan Jardine for the all-time franchise games played mark with his 164th game played, but Worcester extended San Antonio's season long and franchise-high winless streak to 13 games (0-12-0-1) with a 3-1 win at the AT&T Center Sunday night.

Rampage forward Brett MacLean gave San Antonio a 1-0 lead 6:47 into the first with his team-leading sixth goal. MacLean found a loose puck and open net when Sharks goalie Thomas Greiss got out of position after his initial save of center Greg Classen shot.

Late in the first, Sharks center Cory Larose stole the puck deep in the Rampage zone and punched in his own rebound past goalie Al Montoya to tie the game at 1-1 with 2:33 left in the first period. It was Larose team-leading ninth goal.

In a scoreless second, Worcester couldn't capitalize on a 14-5 shot advantage and three power play opportunities as Rampage goalie Al Montoya continued his strong net play.

However, Sharks forward Riley Armstrong took a Rampage turnover in the neutral zone and potted an unassisted goal 9:28 into the third for a 2-1 lead. Worcester capped the scoring when center Steven Zalewski found forward Lukas Kaspar for the one-timer past Montoya and a 3-1 Sharks lead.

The loss drops San Antonio to 2-16-0-1, sets a franchise-high losing streak of nine games and extends the Rampage home losing streak to seven games, just one from tying the franchise mark.

San Antonio came back to outshoot Worcester, 32-31, but went 0-7 on the power play after scoring power-play goals in four straight. Montoya took the loss stopping 28 of 31 and Greiss stopped 31 of 32 to earn his fifth win and help Worcester win their fourth straight game overall.
