Houston, TX - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Houston Aeros 4-0 for their second consecutive win. Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 20 shots he faced to earn his first-career AHL shutout.
Following a scoreless first period, Brock Trotter got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard at 2:01 of the middle frame. David Desharnais blasted a shot that Houston starting goaltender Nolan Schaefer stopped but allowed a rebound. Trotter grabbed the loose puck and buried it into the back of the net to extend his goal-scoring streak to three games. While on the power play, the 'Dogs added their second goal at 10:54. Ryan Russell sent a pass to Mathieu Carle, who had skated to the front of the net from the right point. Carle released a shot that sailed past Schaefer to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
Ben Maxwell recorded Hamilton's second power-play goal of the night at 11:51 of the second stanza. Carle fed a pass to Maxwell, who rifled a shot from the top of the circle. The puck made its way through traffic in front of the net to slip past Schaefer.
Carle added his second goal of the game while on the power play at 9:41 of the final frame. Matt D'Agostini passed the puck to Carle who hammered a shot on net. The puck bounced by Schaefer to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead over the Aeros.
