Las Vegas, Nevada - Five power play goals and a shorthanded tally by the home team helped force a Game Seven, as the Steelheads fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers, 6-0 at Orleans Arena on Tuesday night.

The Wranlgers have won the last two games of this series, staving off elimination in both tilts, to force a do-or-die Game Seven on Wednesday, April 19. The loss was the first shutout defeat for the Steelheads in 2005-2006, as they are now scoreless in the last 87:55 of the series.

There was no scoring in the first 20 minutes of play, as the shots favored the Wranglers at 10-8.

In the second period, the Wranglers struck first with a power play marker by defenseman Christian Chartier at 9:04 of the stanza. From a scramble in front of the net, Marco Peluso found Chartier alone in the slot and he beat Steelheads' goaltender Matt Yeats (30 saves) with a one-timer. Chartier's first of the postseason gave the Wranglers their first lead of the series on home ice.

The Wranglers took a 2-0 lead at 15:10 of the second with another man advantage goal. Derek Edwardson's first of the postseason came off a rebound chance at the left circles. Yeats made the initial save, but Charles Linglet found Edwardson who fired the puck into the empty short side.

At 3:01 of the third period, the Wranglers got a shorthanded, breakaway goal by Todd Alexander to put the Steelheads in a deep hole. Chris Neiszner got the only assist.

Later in the stanza, power play goals by Matt Dzieduszycki, Chris Stanley and Steve Crampton rounded out the scoring. The five power play goals allowed was a season-high for the Steelheads. Twelve skaters recorded points for the Wranglers in the lopsided victory.

The final shots were 36-19 in favor of the Wranglers. Goaltender Marc Magliarditi (19 saves) earned his second victory and first shutout of the playoffs for the home team, while Yeats took the loss to drop to 2-2.

The decisive Game Seven in this series is on Wednesday, April 19. The puck drops at 8:05 p.m. MST. All the action can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1350 AM, "The Ticket," beginning approximately 20 minutes before the drop of the puck.
