Alaska Aces News Release

Alaska awaits winner of Idaho-Las Vegas series (Steelheads lead 3-2, Game Six tonight)

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Winger Cam Keith has been re-assigned to the Aces by Alaska's AHL affiliate in Peoria and should be in the lineup when the club opens the West Division Finals at home April 24 at 7:15 p.m.

Keith finished the regular season with the Rivermen and has played only three games for the Aces since January 21, and none since February 19, when he was recalled for a second time after a series against Long Beach. In 39 games for Alaska, the 6-3, 225-pounder contributed 13 goals and 17 assists, highlighted by a three-point (1g-2a) outing in a 7-4 win at Bakersfield January 7, when his goal snapped a 4-4 tie midway through the third period and gave the Aces their first win at the home of the Condors in nearly two years. He also proved to be responsible in his own end, finishing +20 for Alaska.

Keith, a second-year pro out of Nelson, BC, scored six goals and assisted on seven others in 34 games for Peoria after being held without a point in seven AHL games as a rookie. He scored twice shorthanded, with one of those two goals forcing overtime in an eventual 3-2 victory over Omaha January 29, when he also had an assist on the game-winner. The 25-year-old Keith also had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win against Cleveland March 12.

Regardless of whether the opponent turns out to be Las Vegas or Idaho, Alaska will play the first two games of the West Division Finals on home ice Monday and Tuesday night, April 24-25, at 7:15 p.m. The Aces went 4-2 against Idaho and 4-2-1 head-to-head with Las Vegas during the regular season.

All Alaska Aces games are broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at www.alaskaaces.com, where all West Division postseason games are available on a pay-per-view basis, courtesy of B2 Networks. All of Alaska's road games during the Kelly Cup playoffs also will be telecast live on GCI Cable Channel 88, with Jack Michaels calling the play-by-play and Anchorage sports anchor John Carpenter serving as the color analyst.
