Dayton Bombers News Release

During the final game of the 2005-2006 season on Saturday night, April 8, 2006, the Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team presented a check to the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton in the amount of $6,000 dollars, raised from a special jersey auction earlier this season.

When asked about raising the money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Bombers President Costa Papista stated: "Don and I were very pleased to have an opportunity to raise money for such an important local charity. Our fans and players are the ones who really made this fundraiser possible. We would also like to thank the local McDonald's owners and operators who helped us drive awareness and great attendance for this event."

Fans were able to bid on their favorite player's special game worn McDonald's jerseys after one of the Bombers games, generating this significant donation to the Ronald McDonald House.

Sharon DiLorenzo, Development Director for the Ronald McDonald House stated: "On behalf of the Ronald McDonald House, I would like to sincerely thank all of those that participated in the Charity Jersey Auction. The Dayton Bombers Organization and McDonald's are long time supporters of the House and the families that we serve. The joint effort in putting together this event not only resulted in a fun filled evening for all in attendance but raised needed funds to keep our home-away-from-home open to families in their time of need. The $6,000 dollars raised will cover 60 days and nights of service for families of hospitalized children. We appreciate the continued generosity the Dayton Bombers and their loyal fans and, most importantly, the families appreciate your help in providing them a comfortable and convenient place to stay."
