Loveland, CO (11/5/16) - Connor Chatham netted his first professional goal early in the third period to put the Idaho Steelheads (5-4-1) in front for good, giving Idaho back-to-back victories over the Colorado Eagles (4-3-3) with a 4-3 win at Budweiser Events Center. The win was Idaho's fourth in the past six games and second on their three game road trip.

Just 3:35 into the third period, and 2:29 after Jesse Mychan netted his second goal of the night for the Eagles to tie the game 3-3, Chatham carried a puck down the right wing and fired a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that squeezed through Colorado's Kent Simpson for a 4-3 Idaho lead. It was one of just three shots the Steelheads had in the third period, but they battled to fend off several waves of Eagle attacks as Colorado sent 15 shots at Landon Bow.

The Steelheads jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 5:19 of the game. Joe Basaraba opened the scoring at 1:32 of the first period with a quick shot from the right dot. Defenseman Travis Walsh had carried the puck from the neutral zone, going in behind the net before feeding Basaraba for his first goal of the season. At 5:19, Rob Linsmayer floated a wrister from the left circle through a screen just as Idaho's power play expired, giving Linsmayer his third goal of the season and the Steelheads a 2-0 lead.

Jefferson Dahl earned an assist on Linsmayer's goal, extending his points streak to eight games. It's the longest streak of his career, and his 13 points rank sixth in the ECHL.

After Ryan Harrison drew the Eagles within a goal with a power play tally, Will Merchant restored Idaho's two-goal lead with his second goal of the season, a deflection of a left point blast by Brandon Anselmini on the power play. Anselmini now has four points in his last five games, while Joe Faust's assist on the play moved him into a tie for first in the ECHL in scoring among defensemen with nine points.

Mychan scored twice for Colorado, a power play wrap-around in the second period and a wrist shot early in the third.

The Steelheads are above .500 and moved into second place in the Mountain Division ahead of the Eagles, who are 0-2-3 in their last five. The Steelheads return home, where they are 3-1-1, to face the Adirondack Thunder.
