
Steel to Face Dubuque in Eastern Conference Semifinals

GENEVA, ILLINOIS -The Chicago Steel, entering the postseason as the league's #1 overall seed, will begin the Clark Cup Playoffs on Friday, April 30 as they host the best-of-three Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Dubuque Fighting Saints, the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Series Schedule:
Game 1 Friday, April 30 Dubuque at Chicago 7:05 p.m.
Game 2 Saturday, May 1 Dubuque at Chicago 7:05 p.m.
Game 3 (if nec.) Sunday, May 2 Dubuque at Chicago 7:05 p.m.
All three games are presented by River Front Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram
The Steel finished the regular season with a 38-11-3-2 record (81 pts.), earning the club's second consecutive Anderson Cup Championship, awarded to the USHL regular season champion.
Dubuque clinched a playoff spot on the final day of the regular season, holding off Team USA. The Fighting Saints rebounded from a 1-10-0-0 start to the season to finish with a 24-23-4-1 record (53 pts.).
The Steel faced Dubuque eight times during the regular season, compiling a 5-2-1-0 record in those contests, including a 2-2-0-0 mark at Fox Valley Ice Arena with all four of those games decided by one goal.
Chicago had the top four scorers in the USHL during the regular season, with Sean Farrell winning the regular season points race with 101 (29G, 72A), second-most in league history. Forward Matt Coronato led the league with 48 goals.
Robert Cronin led Dubuque with 52 points (28G, 24A) in 48 games, while mid-season addition Matthew Savoie averaged a team-leading 1.12 points per game with 38 points (21G, 17A) in 34 games.
This will be the second time Chicago and Dubuque have met in the Clark Cup Playoffs. The Steel defeated Dubuque three games to one in the 2017 Eastern Conference Final en route to the team's first and only Clark Cup Championship.
A limited number of tickets are available for the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Steel are currently able to welcome up to 25% spectator capacity based on current state guidelines.
