One day after getting recalled from Idaho of the ECHL, rookie goalie Tyler Beskorowany (5-4-0) made 34 saves to give the Stars the win and pull within one point of first place in the AHL's West Division. Right wing Sean Backman scored the game-winning goal and Mathieu Tousignant also added a tally as the Stars improved to 16-11-0-1 on the road this season. Stars defenseman Dan Spang and forward Brandon Segal each had two assists as Texas won its third straight game. Admirals' goalie Mark Dekanich (20-9-5) stopped 22 shots in the loss. Texas center Mathieu Tousignant poked in the rebound for his eighth goal of the year and a 1-0 lead. The Admirals countered to tie the game 1-1 with a power-play goal at 13:49 by Jonathon Blum. Defenseman Roman Josi picked up an assist on the play, extending his scoring streak to an AHL high 13 games.
Texas pushed in front with a power-play goal from right wing Sean Backman at 7:34 of the second period. Backman's sixth goal of the season was set up by Dan Spang and Brandon Segal, giving the Stars a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes of play.
