Salt Lake City Stars News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (1-2) were red-hot from the field, shooting 53.4 percent, en route to a 135-125 victory over the South Bay Lakers (1-1) on Friday night.
After falling behind by 12 early in the first, the Stars locked-in defensively with deflected passes and blocked shots that led to easy transition buckets. The Stars took the lead from the Lakers 32-30 to end the first period and never looked back.
Carsen Edwards led the Stars with 27 points and five assists, Derrick Alston Jr. added 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Jared Wilson-Frame chipped in with 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists for Salt Lake City.
