Abbotsford Heat News Release

ABBOTSFORD BC - Texas Stars goaltender Richard Bachmann would continue his recent hot streak earning his 4th win in his last six starts, as the Stars would pick up their 20th win on the season skating to a 4-1 victory over the Abbotsford Heat Thursday night in AHL action at the AESC.

Texas Stars forward Tomas Vincour would open up the scoring at 6:21 of the first to give the Stars a first period lead of 1-0 after one. The Stars would add two more goals in the second, scoring just 38 seconds apart to break a close game open. Fabian Brunnstrom scored his 7th on the power play and Ondrej Roman would score his third on a 2 on 1 to make it 3-0 Stars by the end of the second.

The Texas Stars would increase their lead to 4 at 3:38 of the third on a strange shot by Luke Gazdic that would fool Heat goaltender Leland Irving blocker side. Greg Nemisz would spoil the shutout effort for Bachmann as the Heat would get their lone goal on the power play on a backhand shot that would float over the shoulder of the Texas goaltender.

The Heat will look to rebound tomorrow night as they meet the same Texas Stars for a New Years Eve rematch Friday December 31 at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centrepuck drop at 6pm.
