Stars Secure Six-Game Streak As They Collect Win Against Magic

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, steals their sixth-straight win with a 124-115 victory over the Lakeland Magic on the road.

NBA G League player of the week, Frank Jackson, scored 27 points on 8-of-15 (.533) from the field and 5-of-8 (.625) from three-point range. The Salt Lake City center Tyler Cook tallied 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists. Jazz two-way player Johnny Juzang finished with 22 points and four assists. Eli Cain came off the bench to add 17 points on 5-of-9 (.555) shooting to go with seven rebounds. Christian Vital tallied 15 points and two steals as a reserve.

Six members of the Magic scored in double figures. Robert Baker and Zavier Simpson tallied 20 points respectively. Simpson also tallied a game-high seven assists. Lakeland's reserve Admiral Schofield recorded 17 points, while Au'Diese Toney (10 points), Kevon Harris (14 points) and Robert Baker (10 points) finished with double-figures for the Magic.

The match-up began as a back-and-forth battle with three lead changes and two ties. However the Stars jumped out on a 6-0 run to hold the advantage (30-23) at the end of the first quarter. Salt Lake City continued their dominance through the first half and took a 15-point lead with 1:18 left in the second, heading into intermission 70-55. Salt Lake only continued to build their lead in the fourth quarter, starting the final frame on a 6-0 run, before closing out the night 124-115.

Salt Lake City will have the chance to continue their winning streak again against the Magic tomorrow night at the RP Funding Center. The game, which tips off at 5 p.m. (MT) at Bruin Arena, will be broadcast live on nbagleague.com.
