Lakeland Falls to Salt Lake City at Home

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Salt Lake City Stars at the RP Funding Center. Frank Jackson fired off a game-high 27 points, Johnny Juzang had 22 points, and Tyler Cook added a double-double with 23 points,12 rebounds, and five assists as the Stars defeated the Magic 124-115.

Zavier Simpson and Jay Scrubb tied for a team-high of 20 points each while Admiral Schofield scored 17 off the bench for the Magic.

The Salt Lake City Stars would put on a dominant performance while leading the Magic three out of the four quarters, their largest lead was 26 points. The Stars shot 13-30 from deep, 56 percent from the field, and 86 percent from the charity stripe while outrebounding the Magic 50-35.

Lakeland would miss 19 consecutive three-point shot attempts going 9-39 from deep. While the future looked bleak the Magic went on a 19-2 run during the fourth quarter cutting the lead to single digits. Though Lakeland fought strong, they came up short falling to the Stars.

The Lakeland Magic (9-9) will face the Salt Lake City Stars, on Saturday, February 11 in Lakeland at 7:00 PM on NBAGleague.com.
