Stars Release 2018-19 Regular Season Schedule

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars, in conjunction with the United States Hockey League, have announced the schedule for the 2018-19 regular season.
For the first time, the Stars and the USHL will play a 62-game schedule with 30 games at the Ice Box. The 23rd season of Lincoln Stars hockey opens at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic at the UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa., marking the first time that the league showcase will count toward a team's record.
A breakdown of the 2018-19 schedule includes:
- Nine games each against the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm in the Nebraska Cup
- Four games against Western Conference except Des Moines (eight) and Sioux Falls (five)
- Two games against Eastern Conference teams with the exception of Chicago (1)
- Four weekday home games and two Sunday matinee games (November 11 and January 20)
The Stars open their home schedule on Friday, Oct. 5 against the Omaha Lancers, which marks the first time since the 2006-07 season that the Stars will host their Interstate 80 rivals on opening night. The two teams will also face-off in a home-and-home series to close the regular season on April 12 and 13 with the final game coming at the Ice Box.
Over the first three months, the Stars will play nine of their first 10 Friday games at the Ice Box including seven-straight from the home opener through November 16. Lincoln also plays 16 games at home heading into the holiday break, including the first home rematch with the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, Dec. 14.
The Stars make two weekend trips to Eastern Conference teams in the 2019 calendar year starting on January 25-26 against the Green Bay Gamblers and February 7-8 versus the Youngstown Phantoms. The Stars will make their weekend trip against the defending Clark Cup Champion Fargo Force on February 16-17 then host the defending champions on Saturday, Feb. 23. This year, the Stars host Team USA on March 8-9 and the Central Illinois Flying Aces on April 5-6 to finish the full weekend opponents.
The Stars finished the 2017-18 season with a 35-23-1-1 record with 72 points, increasing their point total and win percentage (.600) from the previous season and winning their first playoff series since the 2011-12 season.
A promotional schedule and preseason schedule will be announced at a later date. The USHL Fall Classic schedule is expected to be announced next week.
