Stampede Announce 2018-19 Regular Season Schedule

Sioux Falls, SD--The Sioux Falls Stampede today announced their 2018-19 regular season schedule. The schedule consists of 62 games this season with 30 home games and 30 road games. In addition, the Stampede will participate in the USHL Fall Classic in Pittsburgh (Sept. 27-30) with two games counting towards the regular season standings. The Fall Classic dates and opponents will be released in the coming weeks.

Following the Fall Classic, the Stampede head to Fargo for a double header against the Force on Oct. 5 and 6 with games at 7:05 p.m. at SCHEELS Arena. The team will return to Sioux Falls the following weekend for its home opener on Saturday, Oct. 13 versus the Fargo Force at the PREMIER Center at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under will receive a Stampede replica jersey, compliments of Waterbury Heating and Cooling and Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning.

Additional highlighted games include a New Year's Eve matchup with the Lincoln Stars on Monday, December 31, the 12th Annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog Races against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday, Feb. 23, a special St. Patrick's Day game on Sunday, Mar. 17, and the annual Take My Jersey night on Saturday, Apr. 13. The Stampede will be celebrating their 20th anniversary season in 2018-19. More information on a promotional schedule and special events associated with the anniversary season will be released later this summer.

The club will play 44 games within the Western Conference. Sioux Falls will have 24 home weekend dates, including 10 Friday night games, 13 Saturday night games, two Tuesday and Thursday matchups, and one Sunday, Monday and Wednesday contest. All Tuesday through to Saturday home games will be played at 7:05 p.m., while the lone Monday game will begin at 6:05 p.m. and the lone Sunday game will begin at 5:05 p.m.

The United States Hockey League (USHL) consists of 17 member clubs, with eight teams representing the Western Conference (Des Moines, Fargo, Lincoln, Omaha, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Tri-City and Waterloo) and nine teams representing the Eastern Conference (Central Illinois, Cedar Rapids, Chicago, Dubuque, Green Bay, Madison, Muskegon, Team USA and Youngstown). For the second year in a row, the top six teams from each conference will make the playoffs with the top two teams in each conference receiving first round byes.

The Stampede are hosting a special mid-summer doubleheader scrimmage against the Sioux City Musketeers next Saturday, July 21 at the Scheels IcePlex. Game times are 5 and 7 p.m. and the scrimmages will feature the top 40 players from the Stampede and Musketeers who are vying for a spot on their respective September training camp rosters. The scrimmage will be free and open to the public.
