
Stars Make First Trip to Bloomington

Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars (31-20-1) will make team history when they play their first two games in Bloomington this weekend against the Thunder (31-18-4). Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Lincoln is on a three-game winning streak, tied for first in the Western Conference with 63 points. Tanner Laczynski leads the team with 54 points while goalie Peyton Jones has the fifth-best GAA (2.25) and save percentage (.925) in the USHL.
Bloomington saw its seven-game winning streak snapped on Thursday with a 5-2 loss against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Thunder is fourth in the East with 66 points and led by forward Tarek Baker who has 45 points in 53 games.
The teams split their season series last year, 1-1-0, during Bloomington's inaugural year in the league.

Dylan Woolf and Dominick Mersch scored as the Stars toppled the top team in the USHL for their second shootout win of the season. Peyton Jones made 21 saves. Ethen Frank had the shootout winner in the sixth round.

Scouting Bloomington - The Thunder saw its seven-game winning streak snapped last night with a 5-2 loss in Dubuque. Goalie Hayden Lavigne has the sixth-best GAA in the in the USHL (2.26). Tarek Baker leads the team with 45 points.
Stars vs. Thunder - The Stars and Thunder are meeting for the first time this season. Lincoln is 1-1-0 all-time against Bloomington.
Score-ch The League - Tanner Laczynski (54 points), Ludvig Hoff (51) and Grant Jozefek (47) are among the top 10 scorers in the USHL.
Stonewall Jones - Peyton Jones is 17-8-1 with the fifth-best save percentage (.925) and fifth-best GAA (2.25) in the USHL.

Rock the Box - The Stars have sold out three of their last five home games with packed crowds on Jan. 30, Feb. 19 and March 5. The team has the third-best in attendance in the USHL.
Top Prospects - Ludvig Hoff, Grant Jozefek, Christian Evers, Peyton Jones, Collin Peters and Tanner Laczynski participated in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Omaha, Nebraska on Jan. 12. Chris Hartsburg coached Team West and Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager Corey Courtney joined the support staff.
20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.
Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
