Stars Knock off Hustle

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Salt Lake City Stars defeated the Memphis Hustle 112-91 on Friday night to claim the top spot in the Western Conference.

Seven players posted double figures for the Stars, led by Trevon Bluiett's 19 points in 26 minutes off the bench. Willie Reed posted 18 points on 9-of-12 (.750) shooting to go with eight rebounds. Utah Jazz two-way player Jarrell Brantley (12 points and 13 rebounds) and Jazz assignment player Miye Oni (11 points and 11 rebounds) each finished with double-doubles.

The Hustle were led by Marquis Teague, who scored 19 points to go with three assists. Shaq Buchanan added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Raynere Thornton contributed 18 points and six rebounds.

The two teams traded the lead 10 times in the first half, with the Stars taking a four-point advantage (60-56) at intermission. Salt Lake City outscored Memphis 52-35 in the second half to earn the 21-point victory.

The Stars will conclude back-to-back contests at Memphis tomorrow night. The game tips off at 6 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed live on NBAGLeague.com.
