Legends Acquire Tyler Nelson and Josh Perkins

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired Tyler Nelson and Josh Perkins in a trade with the Greensboro Swarm. In exchange, Greensboro receives Texas' 2020 NBA G League Draft 2nd Round Pick and the returning player rights to Quincy Acy.

Nelson (6-3, 180, Fairfield) has played 72 games with the Swarm over the past two seasons averaging 7.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assist across 17.7 minutes. The Lawrence native was named Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year in 2014 and played four seasons for Fairfield, earning All-MAAC 1st Team his junior and senior seasons. In 127 career games (123 starts) with the Stags, Nelson averaged 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Perkins (6-2, 190, Gonzaga) joined the Charlotte Hornets in Summer League seeing action in 4 games to put up 7.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. The Huntington Prep graduate played four years at Gonzaga averaging 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 153 games (144 starts) and earning WCC honors every season. Joining Greensboro out of Charlotte training camp, Perkins has averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 28 games with the Swarm this season.
