
Stars Fall to Storm, 4-1

Kearney, Neb. - Backed by a two-goal first period, the Tri-City Storm topped the Stars 4-1 on Sunday at the Viaero Center.
The Storm took the lead 27 seconds into the first period when Carson Meyer tipped a shot from Mattias Goransson past Stars goalie Patrik Virtanen to make it 1-0.
Tri-City forward Paul Washe added another midway through the first when he deflected a point shot from John Marino, giving the Storm a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.
Neither team scored in the second, but the Stars took a 20-16 shot advantage into the final 20 minutes.
Wade Allison reopened the scoring in the third, making it 3-1 with a shorthanded goal at 11:57 of the third period
The Stars broke the shutout shortly after with Patrick Polino's ninth goal of the season, but Allison would add an empty netter to make it a 4-1 final.
