Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols (8-11-0-1) will look to bounce back after a crushing 4-3 defeat on Saturday as they welcome the Fargo Force (9-10-1-0) on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Center.

The Capitols nearly came away victorious on Saturday despite being outshot 45-16 through 67 minutes of regulation and overtime. Garrett Metcalf did everything in his power to bail out his team, making 42 saves, including three separate breakaway chances.

Offensively, the Capitols chased Fargo goaltender Ryan Wischow after two periods, scoring three times on 12 shots. Ryan Lohin opened the night's scoring on the power play midway through the first period, and Madison also got contributions from Phil Beaulieu and Alex Payusov in the second period.

With a 3-1 lead heading into the third period, the Capitols could not withstand a barrage of Force chances in the third, as Fargo struck twice on 19 third period shots. Zach Yon and Cole Gallant provided the heroics for the Force to send the game into overtime.

After the teams played seven minutes of extra time without any outcome resolved, Yon picked up the lone shootout tally while backup goaltender Robbie Beydoun turned aside Lohin, Payusov, and Sam McCormick to preserve the 4-3 victory.

Following Sunday's matinee, the Capitols will face three conference rivals in three nights as they take on Dubuque and Green Bay on the road on Thursday and Friday for 7:05 p.m. starts before welcoming the Fighting Saints at the Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7:05 p.m.

Next Saturday's tilt is the second annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans can bring new stuffed animals and chuck them onto the ice for the Capitols' first goal, with donations being made to Capitols charities. Tickets are available by visiting www.MadCapsHockey.com or by calling (608) 257-CAPS (2277).
