Stars Fall Short at Home to Kings 121-103

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, fell to the Stockton Kings 121-103 tonight on their home court at the Maverik Center.

The Stars were led by Stacy Davis' 19 points. Davis, who got his first start with the stars as the only tryout player on the roster now owns 6-of-10 starts on the season. Tonight, on the team's home court he shot 6-of-9 from the field including 5-of-7 from downtown. Frank Jackson added 14 points and three assists, while Utah Jazz assignee Leandro Bolmaro recorded 13 points.

The teams spent the first quarter trading baskets down the court, with Salt Lake pulling closely behind, before Stockton pulled ahead to end the frame up by two. The second quarter proved to be the turning point for the game, with Salt Lake City struggling on the offensive end, shooting just .300 from the field and was outscored by 19 to head into halftime down, 59-40.

While the Stars weren't able to close the gap in the second half, the team shot 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and had six second chance points to Stockton's four and a 4-1 advantage with blocked shots. Although 17 of Davis' points and 12 of Jacksons' came in the second half, the Kings continued to climb claiming a 18-point victory at the sound of the final buzzer.

The Stockton Kings were led by Jordan Ford and reserve Chance Comanche with a game-high 22 points respectively. Kings forward Chima Moneke tallied a double-double with 14 points and an impressive 15 rebounds. While Sacramento's Neemias Queta poured in 18 points and grabbed four rebounds.

Salt Lake City will continue its home-stand in their next back-to-back match-up against the Ontario Clippers on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Maverik Center before facing off once more at Vivint Arena in downtown Salt Lake City on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
