Raptors 905 (5-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, defeated the Greensboro Swarm (5-9) 114-101 Tuesday evening. The 905 were led by Reggie Perry who put up a game-high 24 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and four blocks. Ashton Hagans led Greensboro with 23 points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
The Raptors 905 open the game strong going on an 8-2 run. Greensboro quickly came back, going on a 17-11 run to tie up the ball game at 19. The 905 came out of the timeout closing the quarter off strong, taking the four-point advantage going into the second. The Swarm were able to fight back in the second, outscoring the 905 35-28. Hagans' had 15 points and four assists at the half including a three-point shot from 51 feet out to beat the buzzer.
Down three to open the half, the home side quickly found their rhythm going on a 6-0 run to open the third. The 905 continued to build off their momentum, outscoring the Swarm 28-14 in the quarter. The 905 forced Greensboro into nine turnovers leading to eight points in the third. Up 11 to open the final frame, the Swarm mounted their comeback bid but were unable to come away with the back-to-back win.
The 905 received complementary scoring from Jeff Dowtin Jr. who added 19 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. The Swarm were paced by Kobi Simmons who added 19 points, six rebounds, six assists, and a steal in defeat.
The Raptors 905 now head to Maine to take on the Celtics Friday, tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm. The Swarm continues their road trip as they head to Capital City to take on the Go-Go for a matinee Sunday afternoon.
