
Stars Capture the Win Over the Warriors, 128-110

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (6-10), the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, claimed a 128-110 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors (9-7) (Golden State Warriors Affiliate), at the Maverik Center on Wednesday night.
Utah Jazz two-way player Jason Preston, notched the first Stars triple-double since February of the 2022-23 season, tallying an impressive 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Utah Jazz two-way guard Johnny Juzang, earned a game-high 28 points on five made threes, to go along with a pair of steals. Stars guard Isaiah Miller scored 20 points to lead the bench unit, adding six rebounds and five assists on the night. Meanwhile, Romeo Langford added 16 points for the Stars on six-of-ten shooting.
The teams were locked in a back-and-forth battle throughout the first quarter, tallying seven ties and seven lead changes, as neither opponent could hold a lead larger than four points. A buzzer-beating putback by Justin Lewis, gave Salt Lake City a 28-27 lead to end the first. In the second quarter, the Stars pulled even further ahead, grabbing their largest lead in the half at 13 points, before entering the locker room up 63-54.
The Salt Lake City lead was cut down to two-points by Santa Cruz, using the strength of a .700 shooting percentage in the third quarter. However, the Stars retaliated, taking a 92-88 lead as they entered the final frame. The team wasted no time, expanding their lead to 20 points, on the strength of 14 points from Juzang in the quarter. Salt Lake City captured their home-court victory over the Warriors, 128-110.
Santa Cruz forward Jackson Rowe led the Warriors, totaling 22 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Meanwhile, Santa Cruz forward Javan Johnson added 20 points and five rebounds for the visitors.
The Stars head back on the road to El Segundo, CA as they take on the South Bay Lakers (Los Angeles Lakers Affiliate), at the UCLA Health Training Center on February 10th. The game tips off at 6:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on Tubi.
