GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Gold (9-7) completed a commanding sweep of the College Park Skyhawks (10-7), securing a 107-97 victory in their two-game series hosted in Grand Rapids. Displaying remarkable accuracy, the Gold boasted an impressive 80% success rate at the free throw line, contributing significantly to their win. The Gold maintained the lead for the majority of the game, leading by as much as 18 points.
Leading the charge for the Gold was Hunter Tyson, on assignment from the Nuggets, who delivered a standout performance with 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Additionally, two-way player Braxton Key showcased his versatility with an outstanding double-double, registering 29 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. Andrew Funk also made notable contributions, scoring 18 points while securing 6 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.
The Skyhawks were led by two-way player Seth Lundy with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Rob Baker was close behind with a near double double with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Other Skyhawks players in the double digits were Miles Norris (13 pts), Jarkel Joiner (12 pts), and David Singleton (10 pts).
