February 19, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA - IceCats Executive Vice President Kevin Cummings announced today that The Stanley Cup will be at Worcester's Centrum Centre when the IceCats host the Portland Pirates on Friday, February 28th at 7:05 PM. This will be the first time that the National Hockey League's (NHL) top prize has graced Worcester's Centrum Centre.

Prior to and throughout the game, all fans in attendance will have a free opportunity to see and photograph hockey's Holy Grail. Doors open at 6:05 PM.

The Stanley Cup is North America's oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes. Since 1910, when the National Hockey Association took possession of the Stanley Cup, the trophy has been symbolic of professional hockey supremacy. Beginning in 1926, only NHL teams have competed for this prized trophy.

Worcester, in its quest for the Calder Cup, will welcome the Providence Bruins tonight at 7:05 PM. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Box Office at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
