The Pirates had scored nine goals in their previous seven games before Sunday's 8-4 win in Hershey, sparked by four-point efforts from each Ferraro. Jamie Wright has a goal in five straight games for Philadelphia, one shy of the AHL season high. Ex-Phantom Maxime Ouellet stopped 34 shots in Portland's 1-0 win over Philadelphia on New Year's Eve.
Houston continues to pace the Western Conference and Manitoba is jockeying for position in the East as the Moose look to snap a six-game winless skid against the Aeros tonight (7:30 CT). Houston, 6-1-1-1 in its last nine on the road, knocked off the Moose 4-1 and 6-1 in the teams' first two meetings last month, with nine different Aeros finding the net. Manitoba is 0-4-2-0 since the All-Star break, dropping into the 10th spot in the conference standings.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's five-game road trip continues tonight in Utah (7:00 MT, 9:00 ET), where the Grizzlies will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak overall. The Penguins are 4-0-1-1 in their last six and are right in the thick of the Western Conference race, three points behind the fourth seed Chicago. Utah, who lost AHL All-Star Game MVP Jon Sim in a trade with the Nashville organization on Monday, is 6-2-0-0 against the South Division this season.
