Calgary Stampeders News Release
(Calgary) - The Calgary Stampeders are happy to announce that John Lefebvre, Victor and Jim Choy of the Concorde Group will be distributing 500 season tickets to children in need through the Kids Up Front Foundation, Variety Club and Big Brothers and Big Sisters each year over the next three seasons.
"The Concorde group has stepped up in a way that certainly speaks loudly for the charitable nature of the city of Calgary", stated Stampeder President Ted Hellard. "This act will allow over 4,500 kids and their guardians to experience the fun and comradery of a Stampeder day. The Football Club congratulates the Concorde Group for providing this tremendous opportunity."
The Concorde group is an entertainment company that owns local hospitality properties which include The Whiskey Nightclub, Bass Bros Beer House, The Mercury and many more. The company is committed to helping those in need and felt there was no better way to impress kids then to give them the opportunity to watch a live professional football game.
"We wanted to help less fortunate children throughout the Calgary area, and felt that groups like the Kids Up Front Foundation, The Variety Club and Big Brothers and Big Sisters were a great way to do so," said Victor Choy, Owner of Concorde group. "While supporting the Calgary Stampeders we are able to make sure these children can participate in events that they never ever dreamed possible."
The Kids Up Front Foundation provides entertainment opportunities for thousands of kids and families. The organization partners with corporations and entertainment organizations and the public to redistribute their unused tickets to kids and families. Kids Up Front in turn partners with nearly 130 child-serving partner agencies, whose clients become the recipients.
"This generous donation ensures that all kids have a chance to enjoy the Stampeders," said Barb Radu, Executive Director of the Kids Up Front Foundation. "These tickets are so much more than a ticket, they represent experiences that some of these young fans would never have had."
The Calgary Variety Group and Big Brothers and Big Sisters are charity organizations who specialize in helping children, disabled in one way or another, live a normal life.
The tickets will be distributed by the following:
Kids Up Front
Stampeder Player and Management Group
Variety Group
Big Brothers and Big Sisters
The Concorde Group
