Calgary Stampeders News Release
(Calgary) - Pepsi and the Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce the launch of the new Pepsi Date Zone.
This alcohol free zone is targeted at kids between the ages of 16 and 22 and will be open for six of the ten Calgary Stampeder home games (June 7th, Aug 6th, Aug 12th , Sept 22nd, Oct 1st and Oct 14th).
"The CFL as an entertainment product is in danger of losing an entire generation of fans," stated Stampeder President Ted Hellard. "The concept of the Pepsi Date Zone is to engage the 16-19 year old youth market and allow them to enjoy the excitement of a Calgary game. The Stampeders, in conjunction with Pepsi will distribute over 3,000 free tickets. The zone itself will be an area of constant activity, with added promotions within the zone. We know the kids will love the event, and hope this encourages them later in life to become loyal Stampeder fans."
Three hundred and twenty five pairs of tickets to the games will be distributed at New York Fries locations throughout Calgary and through the Pepsi Spotter Program. This program entitles kids seen drinking Pepsi to win the designated Stampeders tickets. Pepsi spotters will be at various locations throughout the city (as announced on radio) and will be on constant lookout to award those drinking their products.
"We're thrilled to be giving back to our target market through the Stampeders and Pepsi," said Pepsi Food Service Sales Manager Tara MacGillivary.
The Calgary Stampeders and Pepsi recently agreed to an eight year partnership.
"Our partnership with Pepsi brings great enthusiasm and excitement to the Stampeders as we continue to build a strong foundation in the community," stated Vice-President of Business Development Lee Genier.
