Stampede Wilt to Warriors Despite Freeland Effort

BOISE, Idaho - Joel Freeland, assigned to the Idaho Stampede from the Portland Trail Blazers, put up his second double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, but the home team lost to the Santa Cruz Warriors 115-93. Justin Holiday led the team with 26 points (5-7 3FG) and Coby Karl added 24 points and nine assists for Idaho (1-7).

Durrell Summers had 12 for the Stampede, but the team shot 39.5 percent from the field, despite making 11-of-25 three-pointers.

The Warriors shot 51.1 percent from the floor and made half of their three-pointers and they never trailed. Stefhon Hannah had 28 points (11-19 FG, 6-9 3FG) to lead Santa Cruz, as six players reached double-figures. Cameron Jones had 18 off the bench, and Lance Goulbourne added 14, while starters Taylor Griffin had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Travis Leslie and Mickell Gladness both had 13.

Santa Cruz (5-2) outscored the Stampede 52-36 in the paint and 21-10 in second-chance points.

Idaho will play three games on the road in California before returning to CenturyLink Arena for a game against the Maine Red Claws on December 26 at 7 p.m.
