Bakersfield Jam News Release
BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam (6-3) were able to withstand Tulsa 66ers' (5-3) late run in the fourth and came out victorious Friday night at the Dignity Health Event Center by a final score of 101-94.
First quarter was all Damion James as he posted 13 points, three rebounds and two steals in the quarter helping the Jam obtain a 24-21 lead heading into the second period. The Jam then outscored the 66ers 29-22 in the second quarter, thanks to Shan Foster's 10 point quarter effort off the bench in which he shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the field including two three-pointers. With a 53-43 lead at half, the Jam were able to sustain their lead in the third quarter and were up 79-72 to begin the final period. With a 10 point Jam lead in the fourth, Tulsa cut that down to one (93-92) with 3:57 left to play but Brian Butch responded with a clutch step-back three-pointer which proved to be huge as it led to eight unanswered points by Bakersfield and ultimately sealed the win.
James led the Jam with 20 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks while Adam Koch notched in 15 points. Both Stephen Dennis and Shan Foster scored 14 points off the bench and Butch posted 11 points and nine rebounds on the night.
Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Jeremy Lamb led the 66ers with a game-high 24 points and added six rebounds on the night. Rodney Bartholomew tallied 13 points off the bench while Tony Taylor scored 12 points and had eight assists.
Both teams go back at it tomorrow Saturday, December 15 at 7pm PT at the Dignity Health Event Center.
