LOS ANGELES - Despite leading the Los Angeles D-Fenders (4-4) by 22 points in the third quarter, the Reno Bighorns (2-5) fell to the Lakers' affiliate team, 134-124, in triple overtime Saturday night in L.A.

The Bighorns' biggest lead came early in the third quarter, when they led 71-49. Reno allowed the D-Fenders to climb back into the game and force overtime. The Bighorns were up 103-101 with 4.3 seconds left in regulation, but D-Fenders forward Gary Flowers had a wide-open slam dunk to send the game into overtime. Reno was up three points with six seconds left in the first overtime when D-Fenders forward Jamario Moon drilled a three to tie the game again.

The Bighorns were unable to get a shot up at the end of the second OT, with the score 119-119 heading into the third overtime.

It was all D-Fenders in the third OT, as the team scored 15 points to pull away from Reno for good.

Garrett Temple led the Bighorns with 23 points and seven assists. Sacramento Kings assignee Tyler Honeycutt and Darnell Jackson both recorded double-doubles, with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Honeycutt and 20 points and 11 rebounds for Jackson.

The D-Fenders were paced by guard Courtney Fortson, who scored 36 points and dished out eight assists. Lakers assignee, Darius Johnson-Odom, added 30 points.

The Bighorns will hit the road again this week as they face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers for a two-game set on Thursday and Friday.

Reno will return home on January 4th against the Sioux Falls SkyForce. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale today.
