Stampede Gets Set for Three-Game Homestand

BOISE, ID (January 7, 2003) – The Idaho Stampede is getting set for an important three-game home stand this week as the top two teams in the National Conference come to town. The Idaho Center will play host to games against both the Yakima Sun Kings and the Dakota Wizards.

On Wednesday, January 8th, Idaho will face off with second place Yakima in an attempt to inch towards the second spot and a playoff berth. The Sun Kings, led by former University of Nevada Las Vegas coach Bill Bayno, are currently 13-10 (86 quarter points). Nampa Mayor Tom Dale will perform the National Anthem on the trombone and halftime entertainment for Wednesday's game is a Nampa Y-Ball All-Star game.

On Friday, the Dakota Wizards come to town in the first of two games over the weekend. Dakota, led by guard Miles Simon (a former NCAA National Champion and Final Four MVP with the Arizona Wildcats), sits atop the National Conference, leading the league in wins at 15-7, and quarter points (103). The two teams will square off again on Saturday night.

Friday and Saturday's halftime entertainment will be high-flying and filled with action, as the High "Impact" Squad is set to amaze fans of all ages. The Squad combines incredible acrobatic stunts with basketball's slam-dunk to create what is now called "Acro-Dunking." Billed as "The Worlds Most Dynamic Sports Super Heroes", the Squad performs in colorful costumes against a backdrop of high-energy music and unfailingly brings audiences to their feet.

The High "Impact" Squad performs its electrifying Acro-Dunk show for audiences around the world, including major events like the NBA All-Star Jam Session. The Squad has become one of the hottest shows on the basketball half-time circuit as a result of performing their patented high-energy routine at NBA, CBA, and WNBA league games, as well as college games across the country. When it comes to group motivation and/or crowd-pleasing entertainment, the Squad is in great demand both locally and nationally.

Also, during Friday night's halftime show, there will be a paper airplane toss where all fans in attendance will have a chance to win a portable basketball system, donated by GART Sports, and an autographed basketball, signed by the players and coaches of the Idaho Stampede.

Tip-off for all three games is set for 7:10 pm.
