Green Named to All-Star Team

BOISE, ID (January 7, 2003) – Idaho Stampede guard Brian Green has been selected as an All-Star and will participate in next week's 2003 CBA All-Star Game, it was announced today by the team. All-Star game participants were voted on by CBA head coaches and beat writers. The selection marks Green's first All-Star appearance.

Through 21 games played thus far, Green currently ranks 7th in the CBA in scoring (19.5 ppg), and 6th in steals (2.3 spg). During the week of Dec. 1-7, the Nevada-Reno alum earned National Conference Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.3 ppg and 8.0 rpg while leading the Stampede to a 2-1 record that week. On Nov. 24 vs. the Rockford Lightning, he scored a personal season-high of 41 points in a 122-116 loss.

Dakota Wizards head coach Dave Joerger will lead the team against the American Conference at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, SD.

All-Star festivities begin at 9 a.m. CST, January 13, when the National Conference team will hold a public practice at the arena. The American Conference will run drills at 11 a.m., and at 4:30 p.m. the All-Star Fan Jam begins, featuring the Slam-Dunk Competition and Long Distance-Shootout. There will be an All-Star Reception at 7:00 p.m. in the arena.

The 19th CBA All-Star Game will tip-off at 7:05 p.m. CST, January 14. During the contest, reporters and NBA scouts will make their selection for All-Star Most Valuable Player honors, to be announced after the game.
