Stampede Get Third Win In a Row

BOISE, Idaho - Cedric Jackson had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to mark Idaho's first triple-double since Luke Jackson's February 8, 2009 performance at Iowa as the Idaho Stampede (5-13) triumphed over the New Mexico Thunderbirds (10-9) 109-85 at Qwest Arena on Saturday night. The Stampede led most of the way, taking a 25-point with five minutes left in the third quarter.

Starter Antoine Walker led the team in scoring with 28 points (five assists, eight rebounds) with other starters Cedric Jackson, Luke Jackson (21 points, three assists, two rebounds), and Carlos Wheeler (16 points, 12 rebounds) also scoring in double digits. Idaho shot 49.4 percent on field goals and 40.0 percent from three-point-range and outscored the T-birds in three out of four quarters.

The New Mexico Thunderbirds had four players who scored double digits; Dar Tucker lead with 25 points (six rebounds, three assists) and Shane Edwards had 19 points (11 rebounds, three assists).

The Stampede will travel to South Padre Island, Texas to compete against the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League Showcase on Tuesday, January 11, 2011; they then play the Springfield Armor on Thursday, January 13 to wrap up their time in the Lone Star State. The Stampede will return home on January 20, for their game against the Austin Toros.
