Tulsa 66ers Earn 96-95 Overtime Win in Texas

TULSA, OK - The Tulsa 66ers (14-6) recorded their sixth consecutive victory of the season with a 96-95 overtime win against the Texas Legends (9-8) Saturday evening inside Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco. Guard Elijah Millsap led the way for Tulsa with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to earn his second double-double of the season.

Also scoring in double figures for the 66ers was Larry Owens with 17, Tweety Carter with 14, Jerome Dyson with 13 and Ryan Reid with 11.

As a team, Tulsa tallied 24 assists on the night, including a game-high eight from Carter. Defensively, Tulsa forced 26 Texas turnovers and recorded 11 steals to record its 11th win in the past 13 contests.

Also with the victory, the 66ers improved to 2-0 this season in overtime games and 3-1 against the Texas Legends.

Joe Alexander led the way for Texas with 29 points and 10 boards. Booker Woodfox and Justin Dentmon added 20 points each.

The 66ers, who currently stand in first place in the West Conference, were without center Cole Aldrich (sore right hip) and Robert Vaden (eye) against the Legends. Both are listed as day-to-day.

Up next, Tulsa travels to South Padre Island, Texas to participate in the 2011 D-League Showcase. The 66ers first game is Monday morning, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. CT against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
